How sad! This must be stopped!
A man, who demonstrated his explosive anger and loss of patience in an apparent act of animal cruelty has been banned from owning or caring for any pets for the next five years after he was filmed shouting at his dog and then locking the dog in the trunk, reports the Metro.
Paul Anthony Archer of Glendale Road in Leeds, United Kingdom, was video taped by a shocked onlooker as Archer screamed at his English bull terrier, Denver in the trunk of the car using a metal hammer to poke at the dog before slamming the trunk shut telling the dog to go “die.” The video was sent to the RSPCA anonymously, and Archer was tracked by his car’s license plate number.
On Friday, Archer appeared before Leeds Magistrate Court and pleaded guilty to failing to meet his dog’s needs. RSPCA animal control officer, Gemma Fowler stated: “Watching the footage, it is clear than Denver is frightened of the way his owner is behaving towards him. Mr Archer wants him to get out of the car, and is becoming increasingly angry and violent …” Archer defended his actions stating the dog had jumped into his car and accidentally landed on his iPad breaking the screen. In addition to being banned from owning any pets, Archer was sentenced to 12 months of community service, ordered to pay a fine and to attend rehabilitative therapy for his anger and aggressive behavior. Denver will be available for adoption in the near future.
